The 7-th Russian National Scout Jamboree "Ural dimension"
Jamboree "Ural dimension" will be held 14-23.07.2013 in Perm. Jamboree – is a celebration, an adventure, a challenge, a game. Jamboree field is situated on the picturesque bank of the Kama river. For 10 days it'll become a home for more than 2000 scouts from Russia and from abroad.
-Who are Jamboree Organizers?
-National Organization of Russian Scouts (NORS); Perm Scout Center with the support of the government of the Perm region and Perm City authorities.
-Who will participate in the Jamboree?
-Scout groups from Russia (Karelia, Tatarstan, Kalinigrad, Moscow, Saint-Petersburg, Izhevsk) and from abroad (Lithuania, Ukraine, Finland and other countries).
-What does Jamboree consist of?
-Jamboree program is an opportunity for scouts to test themselves, to measure their abilities, reach new levels of development, help somebody and meet a lot of new people.
Activities on Jamboree:
-Water activity (catamarans, boats, yachts),
-Handicraft (local traditional craft)
-School of disaster medicine (professional rescuers will teach you to be prepared to everything!)
-Social activity (volunteer work)
-Forest patrol (Saving the forests)
Competitions and challenges:
Geocaching, teambuilding, rescue trainings, races on water, forest patrols, lapta (National Russian variant of baseball).
Guest day: an opportunity to become a part of the scout camp for scout relatives and also for people who never met scouts before!
The conquest of Yermak – historical and geographical game, a test for endurance and resourcefulness, getting acquainted with the history of Russia and Perm region. Discovering new lands, castles, battles, unexpected turns.
Conferences, discussion forums, meetings for scout leaders and rovers – an opportunity to discuss interesting and important questions and find new friends.
Special programs for different age groups: cub scouts, young scouts, rovers, staff.
-What are the treasures of Perm region?
-Permskiy kray is a region of forests, caves, hills and rivers. It is located in the centre of Russia, on the border of Europe and Asia, close to Ural Mountains. The region is located in the natural zone of taiga and is famous for its coniferous forests. The climate is moderate continental. The summer in the region is warm and the winter is long and snowy.
Kungur ice cave is the seventh longest in the world among gypsum caves and perhaps the most beautiful.
Stone city is a "city" on the top of the hill. Buildings, statues, gates, streets – all made of stone and created by nature.
The museum of wooden architecture "Khokhlovka" unites the memorials of wooden architecture from the end of 17-th century to the beginning of the 20-th century: houses, salt works, churches, mills etc.
Perm region is also famous for its waterfalls, natural reserves, giant limestone columns "Usvinskije stolbi", Yermak stone; as well as for unique wooden sculptures, animal style in metal accessories, Belogorsk Monastery and many other things.
The city of Perm is well-known for its theatres, museums, historical and modern architecture, city routes, bright cultural life. The inhabitants of Perm region are always glad to meet guests.

-How to reach the Jamboree field?
First you have to reach Moscow or Saint-Petersburg, then you need to take a train or a plane to access the airport of Perm.

-How much does participation in Jamboree "Ural dimension" costs?
-Participation fee is 1500 rubles per person. Foreign guests can to pay by cash on the Jamboree.
Other expenses:
-way to the Jamboree field is to be paid by participants themselves;
-the food stuff is to be bought by participants themselves;
Average cost is about 150 rubles per person per day. The food stuff can be pre-ordered and paid on the Jamboree by cash;
-additional cultural program and excursions are to be pre-ordered and paid by participants;
-foreign passports, visas, possible custom dues are to be prepared and paid by participants (but we are glad to help you with invitation and registration in Russia).
